Marie Duchêne has wanted to be a perfumer for as long as she can remember.

After spending her childhood in the Reims region, she studied chemistry and then enrolled at ISIPCA, the International Higher Institute of Perfume, Cosmetics and Food Aromas, where she learned about raw materials, perfumery accords, as well as the history of perfumery and perfume chemistry.

Her internships took her to the Grasse region, where she settled down and began her apprenticeship in various perfume companies.

Over the years and through various encounters, she decided in 2002 to establish her own creative company, MD Fragrances, where she puts her experience and sourcing of quality raw materials at the service of her clients.

"Whether the formula is for a skin fragrance, a lipstick, or a candle, I love that moment when the dizziness of smelling the sample arriving from the lab, when the doubt of knowing whether it will keep its promises comes to an end.

When the expected emotion is there during the evaluation, then the magic happens.

I also enjoy the formulation process, giving free rein to imagination and creativity, while remaining within a highly technical framework.

Walking this tightrope between these two worlds... a challenge that I enjoy and in which I find fulfillment every day."

Marie has created all the fragrances of the Initial Collection of Ideo Parfumeurs, where timeless accords meet unexpected, daring notes.
